There’s probably 100k different articles on “how to make money with instagram reels”, but these articles use the same talking points and the same basic information that you’ve already heard and known for years now.
In this article I am going to tell you why you need to be focusing even more of your energy on short-form videos (Instagram Reels, Tik Tok, YouTube Shorts).
Whether you are trying to get more clients, or grow your personal brand it literally does not matter what your niche is.
These videos work wonders for everyone.
1) Pay To Boost Your Reels Whenever Possible
Do you remember when you could pay 5 cents per click on Google Ads or 10 cents per click on Facebook ads? Well, those days are long gone and the prices are now sky high.
But what about Instagram?
Because so many creators are now focusing most of their attention on YouTube and Twitter, growing on Instagram is easier and cheaper than ever as they try to lure users back to the platform.
For someone that boosts their Instagram Reels pretty often, I consistently reach about 1,800 people and gain 50-100 new followers for each $10 I spend.
That is an unbelievably phenomenal return on investment.
How to choose which Reels to boost:
- Post a Reel and leave it alone for 1-2 days
- If it gets more engagement than usual – boost it
- Let Instagram choose your target audience (better results)
- Start with $10 and then go from there
2) Force People To Visit Your Profile and Click Your Bio
Make sure that you mention your website/your instagram bio in most of your Reels so that people are always aware of what you offer.
TIP: Provide them with the information they are looking for in the first 10-20 seconds and then add a call to action to visit your website in the last 5-10 seconds.
Most people will not follow your directions, but 10-20% will and that’s all we care about.
Once they get to your profile give them even more directions, such as in the example below.
3) 1 Video, 5 Different Platforms
Once you have made your short-form video you can and SHOULD post it on Instagram, Tik Tok, YouTube, Facebook, and even Twitter, with the same exact caption and you will get results on each of them.
Twitter is currently developing a short-form video feature that will be similar to what Vine was a few years ago. Once that is released, short-form video will be even more important.
Filming the videos are the hardest part, but once that is done you can copy and paste the videos to all of your accounts in less than 2 minutes.
“Short videos allow brands to deliver their message in a concise and impactful manner,” says advertising guru Sarah Johnson.
“This format is perfect for driving brand awareness, generating leads, and ultimately increasing sales.”
4) Post More Reels Than Photo Posts
Picture posts have nowhere near the organic reach and virality that Reels now have, and this is blatantly obvious.
It is still important to post regular photo posts as a part of your overall branding strategy, but it should be a supplement instead of your main priority.
5 Reels + 2-3 photo posts per week would be a good starting point, but more is always better.
5) Instagram Is The First Step – The Goal Is Always Website Visits
This is perhaps the most important part of this entire article, and this should always be kept in mind.
As people start to get some engagement on Instagram they lose sight of the end goal: converting followers into cash.
This doesn’t mean to exploit them and make a scammy, salesy instagram account, but you should always be focusing on getting your followers to your website.
That is where the real money is made.
You need to make sure that you have a call to action, a link, a logo, or something else associated with your brand/website at all times.
